Hiking around the world

Hiking is common in many parts of the world for both health reasons and as a way to appreciate and enjoy the outdoors. While many counties call it hiking or backpacking other countries have some interesting terms. If you were in New Zealand you would say tramping but in the United Kingdom it would be hilwalking. Australians are partial to the term bush wacking and those in India go trekking. Many hikers who opt for a shorter or more leisurely pace will call it rambling. What ever term you choose, hiking is a great hobby. It is a great way to exercise and relax.
